Lost & Never Found Again: LOVE Night Light

When I was a child, in the six-to-eight-year-old zone, I was intensely into a myriad of unexplainables: particularly, UFO’s, Big Foot, the Loch Ness Monster, Frankenstein, etc. My fascination with these things, augmented by lots of reading, was offset by routine nightmares. Blood-curdling screams would jar my parents awake; they would come running to my bedside thinking that I was being killed by an intruder.

When it became apparent that my imagination was just hijacking everyone’s sleep, that’s when the LOVE night-lite came into my life. It was a red neon-like device with the logo scene in the photograph. If I awoke from a nightmare, it would be plugged in and I would mesmerize myself into a comfortable stupor by staring at it.

I don’t know if it eventually burned out, or I accidentally shattered it, but I sure miss it and wouldn’t mind having it now. Not that I, y’know, need a night light.
