Sex comedies are my forte. I’m in love with them, even the bad ones. It doesn’t matter to me if they’re bad because I find something enjoyable out of each of them. There are a lot of sex comedies but there are some real gems hidden about all the boobs and sand. One of those flicks is Valet Girls.

With these films you can’t go on expecting a plot. Usually there’s a very simple story with lots of boobs and running from the villain or trying to overcome some obstacle and having to raise money for it. Valet Girls is about a singer who wants to make it big so she becomes a valet girl? What?

I mean, you have to work if you are trying to make it as a singer so what would be better than being a valet girl and driving cars around? What if you were worked for a valet service and a record producer needed you to valet cars at a party? Bingo. Now it all makes sense . . . right?

Whatever; these films need a likable lead and a kick-ass soundtrack and we are golden. This film has both of these things along with boobs and Ron Jeremy in the background. Yes, he doesn’t have much of a role but he is a party guest throughout the film.

Valet Girls is directed by Rafal Zielinski who is one of the kings of directing sex comedies. He is the brilliant mind that brought us Recruits, Screwballs 1 & 2, Screwball Hotel, Last Resort, State Park, and of course, the delightful Valet Girls. The lead is played by Meri D. Marshall who had a short career in the music industry. That’s probably why she got this role. Either that, or this film was created just to ignite her career. The soundtrack is by her and it is really freaking good and I’m trying to track it down at the moment. Another one of the leads is played by the extremely cute April Stewart. Sadly, these two ladies only acted in one flick and this is it. The chemistry between them is outstanding and it’s a little weird that they didn’t get more roles and weren’t in more films together because they could have done some damage.

Most of these old sex comedies have been buried and are extremely hard to find. Luckily Valet Girls is very cheap on VHS and I believe you can view it on Amazon Instant. As far as a DVD or Blu-Ray release, however, we are out of luck. MGM did an HD transfer back in the day and I think that’s what is on Amazon.

I know VHS Visions is about films that are only on VHS and no other format, but Valet Girls is just on Amazon Instant for the moment which doesn’t mean it doesn’t qualify to be in this segment. I know digital is considered a format but if you don’t have Amazon Instant you’re shit out of luck. Once it vanishes from Instant, where are you going to view it? Exactly. Valet Girls is a film that needs to be one some kind of physical format other than VHS and I hope to see that soon.
