The latest effort/persona from Drew (of Toothpaste For Dinner, Married To The Sea, and others): Crudbump.
Bathe in its magnificence. . . wait, did you hook up a subwoofer? I told you to hook up your subwoofer. Pretty sure I did tell you. You’re going to need it.
This record has tons of great old synths recorded superbly with nasty booty-shaking grooves, and if you like Drew’s sense of humor, you’re pretty much going to love his lyrics. Any record that has a song called “My Dick’s On The Phone” that evokes classic Devo is going to be an instant classic. That’s not true; don’t try that theory out on your own CD.
This record is going to stay in my studio where I can slyly put it on during breaks in tense recording situations. . . it’s going to be hard to be pissed off when there’s a bass groove pumping and the delightfully witty lyrics of “I Don’t Do Shit” or “Horsetown.”
There are lots of instant classics on this album. I find myself thinking about “Subprime Lenders” any time I see a large house for sale. I’m digging the Crudbump, and I think you will, too.
NA$TYJAM$ was released on February 1 of this year and is available to download from the Crudbump website via iTunes, Sharing Machine, Amazon MP3, eMusic, Shockhound, Lala, and Rhapsody. You can read more about it on the Toothpaste For Dinner Blog.

I bought this CD a while back, and I have not been disappointed.

100 percent agree – Horsetown has been stuck in my head for over 3 weeks running.
