What a Fun Trick: A Great Noisemaker!

The Apples in stereo are such a great band: shiny retropop that just makes you happy, even when the lyrics are depressing. It also seems that they’re nice folks.
At a show once, my best friend and I got to talk with Apples member Robert Schneider, and not only was he one of the happiest folks out there, he gave us a hug, one that HE initiated. That is really awesome.
It turns out that he’s pretty dang smart too. (OK, this isn’t a surprise; the Apples have always done very well-crafted, smart pop music.) Aside from creating the Non-Pythagorean Musical Scale and distributing samples of the notes to be loaded into a MIDI controller as a bonus feature on the Apples’ last record, New Magnetic Wonder, he’s also created the E.L.F.N.T. – 6, a machine that can open up portals to other parallel universes.
The video explaining this new wonderful device can be seen at the new site, Step Into The Portal, where you can find a free download of the new single “Dance Floor,” along with lots of other stuff, too! Check it out!
The Apples in stereo’s new album, Travellers in Space and Time, is slated for release on April 20. If you Step Into The Portal, you can find a link for pre-ordering the album, upcoming tour dates, a short film featuring Elijah Wood, the Elephant 6 Family Tree, and a Time Machine which allows you to stream your favorite Apples in stereo tracks from #1 Hits Explosion.
