The boys are at their greasiest in Season 10 thus far, and it only took four episodes to get there. With the two jobs from the previous installment resulting in no cash, the core three, with J-Roc and T, head to the Denture King dental office to steal anything they can.

For Trailer Park Boys fans, the Denture King is a familiar face—well, sort of. Sam Losco returns to the series after actually becoming a caveman in Season 9, but with a brand-new look and business to boot. Sporting an obvious toupee and horse-sized chompers, Sam is a dumb enough target for Ricky, Julian, Bubbles, and their crew to hit.

Things don’t go smoothly after realizing that the office safe is dead bolted to the studs in the wall. One rope, hook, and car later, the bumper of Lucy’s borrowed car is torn off, and Ricky is in some serious trouble when he gets back to the park.

The arc of the main character revolves around his wanting to have a complete and harmonious family. While Ricky doesn’t feel like the character of old, his new ambitions play off well on-screen. At points, it’s actually fairly heartbreaking to see the honest guy get sucked into questionable situations against his will for the good of his family.

In fact, everybody’s individual storylines hit, with the exception of one: Bubbles. His appearance complex and attempt to reinvent himself lead to some funny dialogue and imagery, but is made of no real substance. The character that is universally loved has become quite forgettable.

With that small issue aside, things seem to be falling into place in the tenth season—both narratively and comedically. Each episode builds off of the last, and if the pattern continues, the finale is going to be an incredible ride. Trailer Park Boys is a love-it-or-hate-it show, and for those who are in the first category, it is a pretty good time to be a fan.
